July Real Estate Market Stays Active

The market usually slows down during the summer months, but not this year. Home sales have stayed steady with 414 single-family homes changing hands in July 2023 (compared to 424 sales in June 2023 and 294 sales in June 2022).

Active listings of all types have decreased in July 2023 compared to one year ago:
* Single-family homes: 1,092 (down from 1,387)
* Condo apartments: 312 (down from 336)
* Row/townhomes: 262 (down from 267)

VIREB StatsAs it turns out, buyers are still finding ways to make their purchases despite higher interest rates. There are still multiple offers made on moderately-priced homes. However, higher-end homes are finding it more difficult to sell at prices matched to mid-2022 benchmark prices.
